Pre-requisite qualifying courses

• A PADI Junior Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 11 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.

What the course covers

• The Junior Open Water course structure is essentially the same as for the adult course
• You’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.
• You'll earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives.
• The course is split into two parts. The first 5 Classroom Sessions and 5 Pool Sessions plus a 6th Pool Practice usually over 6 Saturdays.
• Then four certification divesover two days at an open water location.
• Includes all Equipment

PADI Open Water

If you want to learn to scuba dive, take a PADI Open Water Diver course, the most widely recognized and respected diving certification in the world.

This exciting five day course is a qualification for life to a depth of 18 metres.

As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, you'll have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional.

What the course covers

You’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.

You'll earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.

The course is split into two parts. The first 3 days of pool and theory take place at Andark, (or Home Study - see Timetable details below), and the final two days for the 4 qualifying dives are at a suitable (and safe) open water training site. (See timetable details below for the various ways that you can complete these two parts

PADI Advanced Open Water

Continuing the adventure is one of the best moves you can make.

You will upgrade your depth rating with the Advanced course. There is no classroom content - just two days of diving.

The PADI Advanced Open Water program has some great benefits in helping you to develop your diving skills

By going beyond Open Water Diver, you will

• Learn additional skills specific to your interests
• Be more confident in and around the water
• Acquire a better understanding of the aquatic world
• Dive where only divers with advanced training can, to a maximum depth of 30 metres

Pre-requisite qualifying courses

• PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)

PADI Rescue Diver

Rewarding and fun – that best describes the PADI Rescue Diver course.

This is a 5 day course will expand your knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.

Pre-requisite qualifying courses

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization)

Minimum age

• 15 years (see Junior courses - 12 years for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)

What the course covers

During the five open water sessions over the 4 day course, you'll do multiple dives, and cover the following:

• Self-rescue and diver stress
• Emergency oxygen delivery systems
• Dive first aid
• Swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
• Emergency management and equipment
• Panicked diver response
• Underwater problems
• Missing diver procedures
• Surfacing the unconscious diver
• In-water rescue breathing protocols
• Egress (exits)
• First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
• Dive accident scenarios

PADI Master Scuba Diver

PADI Master Scuba Diver is not a course, but an experience-based certification, and indicates that you have a significant amount of training and experience in a variety of dive environments.

The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is the highest recreational level in the PADI system of diver education. But, you don't have to stop there! You can continue on to become a PADI Professional. As a Master Scuba Diver you'll be well qualified to begin your training as a PADI Divemaster.

Pre-requisite qualifying courses

• PADI Rescue Diver or above
• Miniumum of 50 logged dives
• Certification in 5 Specialty areas.
• Minimum age: 12 years

PADI Specialty Courses

How far can you take this diving thing? It's up to you.

With PADI Specialty Diver Programs you can chart your course for a colourful collection of awesome dives. Sure, your PADI certification opens up the oceans and lakes to you, but the PADI Specialty Dives take the underwater adventure to depths that will stir your soul.

Achieving PADI Specialty ratings can take anywhere from as little as one day to a full weekend - but this is all hands-on, so you'll be diving right from the start.

Here is a selection of the great specialty courses Andark has to offer. Get five specialty ratings and you're on your way to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver.

PADI Enriched Air Diver

Maximize your time with the upgraded PADI Enriched Air Diver course. Enriched Air Diver saves you time by allowing you to stay underwater longer and get back into the water sooner. Plus, by diving with enriched air (Nitrox) you may feel less tired on your vacation.

You can get your certification while simultaneously completing dives for other PADI courses

Pre-requisite qualifying courses

• PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• A minimum of 10 logged dives beyond training dives.

Minimum age

• 15 years

What the course covers

• The course looks at the procedures, benefits, safety and theory of Nitrox diving, and is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air (nitrox) for no-stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22% to 40% oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air with 32% and 36% oxygen.
• The 2-day course involves one day's theory and 2 open water dives. These dives can be combined with any other non-professional diving course above Open Water Diver that requires 2 or more dives

EFR

The EFR Primary Care course covers the basics of First Aid plus CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), and meets the requirements both for the Rescue diver course and the HSE Appointed Persons at Work. (The course must be updated every two years)

The EFR Secondary Care course moves on from First Aid and resuscitation and looks at injury and illness assessment, bandaging, and dealing with dislocations and fractures. This course certification is required for PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster
